CEREC TECHNOLOGY

We are very excited to announce the acqusition of our state of the art CAD software that utilizes a digital 3D camera to take optical impressions of teeth that are to receive fillings, onlays or crowns. The digital impression replaces the physical gooey impression required in traditional procedures. The exact design specifications are sent to our in office milling machine to create your restotation. We are often able to complete the restoration the same day so the patient avoids wearing a temporary and a second visit!! At this time we are mainly utilizing this for routine posterior crowns and onlays. MINI IMPLANTS

We are now offering mini implants to denture wearers to help improve the fit and stability of their dentures. These are implants with a diameter smaller than 3mm that have received FDA clearance for long term applications. The main advantage of these are the much lower costs than traditional implants and simplicity of placement. Dr Johnson would be happy to discuss which implant system would be best for your needs!

CONSCIOUS SEDATION:

We now offer conscious sedation for fearful patients or any patients who desires to be mildly sedated while receiving dental treatment. The medication is called Triazolam(Halcion) and is administered in the office one hour prior to the visit. It is extremely safe but does require close patient monitoring with our pulse oximeter and blood pressure monitor. A health evaluation is necessary to see if a patient would be a good candidate. HELPING THOSE IN NEED!

Dr Johnson participates in a program called Donated Dental Services thru the Washington State Dental Association. These patients are treated at no charge in his office after a careful screening by the DDS coordinator to verify their financial and personal situation. NEW SOFT TISSUE LASER!!

We are very excited to introduce our new laser into our practice. It is a diode laser called the Odyssey Navigator and is used for soft tissue modifications. It is also being used to dramatically speed healing times for canker sores and cold sores. It is best to treat these with the laser at the earliest sign or symptom. NEW NIGHTGUARD DESIGN!!

We are currently using a new nightguard design called NTI-tss Plus. It does the job of a bite guard but covers only the front teeth. It is a small clear taco shaped appliance usually made for the lower front teeth. It is proven to be a superior alternative to full coverage biteguards. Full coverage bite guards increase clenching activity for some patients by providing an ideal clenching surface for canines and molars. The NTI-tss Plus discludes all posterior and reduces clenching activity by nearly 70%. Because it is smaller and less bulky it won't trigger a gag reflex and patients actually wear it!! IN OFFICE BLEACHING NOW AVAILABLE!!

We are now offering in office bleaching for those patients wanting an immediate whitening without the hassle of trays. We utilize a material called Boost by Opalescence which uses 40% hydrogen peroxide. This technique is as effective as Zoom and laser whitening and typically less expensive. It typically takes about 1 hour and involves 2-3 20 minute appications. We usually recommend take home trays in addition to this but will discuss each patients situation with them about their options. Some colorations are more difficult than others and we cannot always guarantee the exact outcome.

 NEW TAKE HOME BLEACH OPTIONS!!

For ladies we now have a very cool bleaching tool called a Chic-Flic made by Whiter Image. It is a To GO Teeth whitening and Lip Gloss Plumper Pen. It is about size of lip stick cartridge and has LED lights and a mirror. Ladies have loved this!!

We also now offer 35% carbamide peroxide bleaching material that is placed inside your custom bleach trays for about 30 minutes per day!!! This would be for patients that do not want to wear the 10% formula overnight or for longer periods. There is a potential for more sensitivity but many perfer this higher percentage and tolerate it just fine.
