CEREC TECHNOLOGY

We are excited to announce our latest technological acquisition for our office called CEREC. It is a state of the art CAD software that utilizes a digital 3D camera to take optical impressions of teeth that are to receive fillings, onlays or crowns. The digital image replaces the physical impression required in traditional procedures. The exact design specifications are sent to our on site milling machine to create your restoration. Depending on the type of porcelain and other factors we can often times complete your restoration the same day!

 DIODE SOFT TISSUE LASER 

We use a soft tissue laser for minor tissue modifications. This helps us tremendously to help achieve superior restorative and esthetic results. It benefits the patient in that it sometimes helps avoid much more involved and expensive gum surgery by a periodontist. There are no sutures required and healing time is very quick and virtually painless. We also use the laser to treat canker sores and unsightly cold sores on the lips. The best time to treat these is at the very first sign or symptom of these sores. We use the laser away from the lesion in a pulse mode for 2-3 minutes to kill the virus. The photons will penetrate about 4mm and the virus will not typically reoccur again in the same location.

STERILIZATION TECHNIQUES:

-We use state of the art sterilization techniques and strictly follow the guidelines set forth by the American Dental Association

-Use of disposable gloves(both latex and non latex), masks, and protective eyewear

-All handpieces and instruments are steam sterilized after each patient use.

-Many items are disposable single use items including all syringe needles.

-Our dental units have separate water sources with distilled water to eliminate harmful bacteria found in older water lines

-Plastic disposable covers on all handles and tubings in operatories that are removed after each patient visit.

DIAGNOSTIC:

-Digital dental xrays using sensors for intraoral images. This reduces radiation up to 90% from standard xrays

-Digital intraoral photography with instant imaging on our operatory computer screens to show our patient their oral conditions

-Diagnostic study models and photographs in comprehensive cases

-Diagnodent using laser induced fluorescence technology as an aid in detecting caries.

PEDIATRIC:

We love children and believe it is important to provide them with an early intrduction to dental care. We believe the first visit should start as early as age one. This visit is typically more of a parent-doctor conference discussing the importance of oral hygiene and answering any questions they may have. We use a toothbrush to try and look in their mouth while they sit on their parents lap. After age two we usually start our clinical exam along with digital images and an intruduction to cleaning and proper oral hygiene.Please check out our "Childrens Pictures" section!

PREVENTIVE AND PERIODONTAL:

We believe in regular checkups using the latest technology in ultrasonic cleaning, fluoride, rinses, and sealants to prevent tooth decay and periodontal disease. Our two full time hygienists provide comfortable, quality cleaning and keep you informed of your current gum health.

RESTORATIVE:

Fillings with natural tooth colored porcelain or composite.

COSMETIC:

It is no longer necessary to live with discolored, chipped, cracked or crooked smiles. We can enhance your smile with bleaching, tooth colored fillings or beautifully bonded veneers and crowns.

PROSTHETIC AND IMPLANTS:

To repair or replace teeth, our services include crowns, bridges, partial dentures, and implants. Dr. Johnson has trained in numerous accredited courses and study clubs regarding dental implants. Working with an implant surgeon, he provides patients with a full range of choices and the final restoration.

ORAL SURGERY:

We provide minor oral surgery procedures involving the extraction of unrecoverable teeth and aesthetic recontouring of gum tissue to enhance cosmetic appearance.

ENDODONTICS:
